03.30.02 MBC Meeting
City, Province: Fredricton, NB
Time: 12:00pm
Place: Mike Hunt's house
Description: Just to meet some of the members and look at each others cars, guests welcome.
Follow-Up: Well, the first ever meeting of the MBC was a success, everyone had
a great time and it was great to finally put faces to names.
here's a breakdown of how the day went:
Sat. Mar. 30th 2002 (10:30am)
Me and my Fiancee Moira meet up with Carrie and her boyfriend Freddy
(sp?) in the Fredricton Inn parking lot, we then decide to go to
Chapters and sit down and talk for a while. We talked mostly about
our cars and what we want to do to them, we talked about the
rare "Beretta SS" ;) and about various other models.
Sat. Mar. 30th 2002 (10:50am)
we head out onto the highway from Chapters, Carries car in the lead
and me close behind, it was starting to rain fairly hard and it was
starting to look like the weather really didnt want to co-operate
with us today. about half-way to Saint John the weather cleared up,
it was sunny, the roads were dry and things were looking good, 15
minutes down the road however, it was pouring rain again.
Sat. Mar. 30th 2002 (12:00pm)
Carrie and Freddy pull into a motel to get their room for the night,
I give Mike a quick call to tell him we'll be a bit behind schedule.
We were a bit later then I thought, a wrong turn set us back about 5-
10 minutes but we still arrived at Mike's house at 12:40pm.
Sat. Mar. 30th 2002 (12:40pm)
We meet up with Mike and take a look at the GTZ rims he has for his
project car, they are in great shape and I was tempted to slip one
or two under my jacket when he wasn't looking :) His purple Beretta
(88) is.. very.... purple. but seems to be in relatively rust free
condition, if only it had reverse... his project car is going to
be something VERY nice when he is done with it, it's a 89 base,
greay with a burgandy interior and a 3.1l hooked up to a 5 spd. It
will eventually have GTZ GFX and wheels and will be painted white.
Sat. Mar. 30th 2002 (1:20pm)
We all head down to Saint John, me, Moira, and Mike in my car and
Carrie and Freddy in the Z26, we arrived at McAllister Place and
looked around for a seat in the food court, I think we would have
had to start knocking people out to get seats as there were about 30
others waiting. we decided to go to Mike's resturaunt, the food
there was great. Mike, Freddy and myself all talked about what we
wanted to do to the Beretta's and laughed at some of the ricy cars
we had seen, Carrie and Moira were talking about jobs and school i
think, I was too caught up in car talk, you'll have to ask Carrie
what was talked about! :) We left the resturaunt and went back to
the mall, on the way Freddy dissapeared and Mike and I went to talk
to the owner of a burgandy GTZ we saw in the parking lot, it looked
like we scared him a fair bit when two strangers come up to his
window wanting to talk to him, but eventually he put down his window
and I told him about MBC and asked if he would like to join but he
declined. Mike and I got back into the mall and looked around for a
while.
Sat. Mar. 30th 2002 (4:00pm)
We met up and drove back to Mike's house where we parked my car in
the garage where it was dark so everyone could see the underglow
neons on a Beretta, Carrie took a few pictures while Mike and I
discussed what color he should get, Freddy looked like an Inspector
from DMV or a cop looking for drugs in my car, he just kept walking
around and staring inside! :) and Moira just kinda stood there!
Sat. Mar. 30th 2002 (5:00pm)
We moved my car out of the garage and everyone had their chance to
take some pictures of the Beretta's out in the rain. We took a
couple of group photos and then said our goodbyes to Mike and headed
back to the motel, At the motel Moira and I said our goodbyes to
Freddy and Carrie and headed back to Fredricton.
That concludes our first ever MBC meeting! I know I had a GREAT
time and I hope everyone else did as well, the next meeting will
have more people it will be an all day thing and it will have better
weather! I hope to have a BBQ or something if we can.
Keep your eyes peeled for info on the next meeting!
